I used this fan to replace a bathroom fan of indeterminate age - a Broan Nu tone LLC 82403000. The one we had would start squealing randomly, squeal for a day or so and stop. This has been going on for a year and I finally had enough. I opened up the light (easy, one screw) and looked at what I had. Seemed simple enough, fan held in by two little screws and a basic non-grounded plug. This one looked similar and the price was right so I pulled the trigger.Installation was pretty easy. I did need to remove the bracket that was holding the old fan in place but this just required 3 phillips screws. After that, an 8mm socket removed both of the little nuts to free the old fan. Once free, the new fan slipped right in and I pressed the fan (closed side UP) onto the spindle.Installation back was simple, slipped the bracket back in place and plugged the new fan in (tested before I screwed the bracket in). Note that my old fan was a 90 degree plug and this one is a regular plug. It DOES push up against the new motor a bit but it doesn’t look like it’ll be an issue. The replacement seems to move the right amount of air. It did come with a bit of corrosion on it, but I figured that’s not a big deal since it’s going into the bathroom to pull wet air for the rest of it’s life - it’ll be nice and rusty when it finally dies.Hopefully this little guy will be around for a while. I’ll update this post if longevity proves an issue. At this point, I’m completely satisfied.
